This is a scene in the garden of the Taliaferro-Cole House in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. It shows the back of the original 18th century house in early May, wen the irises are at the peak of their blooming season. hese gardenns are an authentic recreation on the original site.

This original large oil painting was developed from a smaller pastel painting that was done on location. I am grateful that Colonial Williamsburg has allowed me to set up in quiet corners and ply my trade for the past almost thirty five years.
